David Phillips, a senior climatologist from Environment Canada, predicts that Canada’s winter this year will be tougher and longer. If you are hoping for another dose of last year’s mild winter, sorry but you’ll be disappointed.
The winter in Canada last year has set a record as its second driest and third warmest. This year will be extra special for those that love to enjoy winter activities and activities like snowmobiling, toboganning, and skiing.
Except in BC where they experience mostly moderate winter, the height of Canada’s winter is freezing cold in most of the places in the country. Two hours from inland Vancouver is Whistler which on the other hand is a major skiing destination because of the loads of snow that it gets during winter.
No matter how fun or miserable winter makes out of the inhabitants of Canada, it sure makes our cars miserable. As with any other car during winter, the harsh climate can take its toll on your handy vehicles. As we adjust to the winter frost, the same should be with our cars. There are many cars that break down and don’t even make it through winter. If you don’t want this to happen to your car, be sure that you follow the following tips to ensure that you keep your car in tip top shape.
The twigs, leaves, and dirt debris that pile up on your home’s gutter can destroy it and this can also do the same damaging effects on your car. This is especially true when they pile up in the parts of your car where water is supposed to flow, it may lead to corrosion and leaks.
Consider having winter tires for safety. “All season” tires have been in the market for a very long time now. This can be partnered with anti-skid systems and front-wheel-drives. As you head into the harsh winter, make certain that your tires have enough treads on them no matter which tire you choose.
Visibility when driving is extremely cut short by fog, rain, and show. Wiper blades are very important and note that they normally should have a lifespan of just one year. Be sure that you consider your car having the newer beam blade wipers every winter. They don’t have external springs that can potentially freeze up on you.
Many car owners believe that the anti freeze is absolutely necessary during winter months. Chances are however that your engine coolant, will already be enough to help your car through the harsh weather. Newer cars are fitted with coolants that may last up to 5 years or certain mileage on your car. Be sure to refer to your owner’s manual.
If worse comes to worse and you’ll need to have repairs and you are tight on budget, no need to worry because there are actually many lenders that can help you cover the expenses for your car’s repairs. Car repair loan application is very convenient and quick. Borrowers can usually get approved and money is released all in the same day.
